Objectives of AAAN:

Improved coordination
By establishing an effective networking system among the stakeholders and by developing local partnership having local strategic planning with common goals, the AIDS epidemic will be approached in a more coordinated way with combined forces. The Network will serve as bonding glue between member organizations for a strong joint action and louder voice.

Capacity building
The Network will support capacity building of Governmental Organizations (GO's) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's &POs) involved in HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities. This may include organizing experience sharing and discussion workshops and training programs, exchange and exposure visits, production and dissemination of useful educational tools and guidebooks, etc.

Experience sharing and learning
Through facilitating experience and information sharing among network members by supplying joint meetings, relevant up-to-date information (amongst others a newsletter) and a central databank the Network will create an environment of increased information sharing and learning.

Advocacy
The network will be a reflection platform and will facilitate and coordinate the identification and pursuing of community based and policy advocacy and action issues of mutual concern to members such as rights issues for PLWHA, orphans' sexual exploitation, access to ARV drugs, violence against women and HIV/AIDS, etc.

Mainstreaming
The Network will encourage private sectors and other organizations to incorporate HIV/AIDS components in their program, as well as to establish a support system to strengthen community involvement in the HIV/AIDS control effort.
